Judgement

I came upon this day...

I thought it was relevant so I thought I'd share. Some of these photos are beautiful (Katy Perry is hot no matter what size she is), some of them are a bit harsh. I mean, those photo poses would not be chosen for a bigger woman. Many of them looked pregnant... We should have thicker woman more often in Hollywood. And I'm not talking about Mindy Kaling, whom I've met and  no one would ever meet her and classify her a "bigger girl". The old saying "The camera adds 10lbs?" Well, in regards to all of the celebrities I've met in my life, I'd say even more than 10... I'm not saying no one should be thin, I'm not saying no one should be thick, I'm saying we should have a bit more variety. Why do we have to live in a world where Kate Winslet was called fat after Titanic came out? Or January Jones gains a bit of weight and though she still looks AMAZING she gets on the fat list. And it goes both ways. How often do you see "'Actor' withers away to nothing" when an actress loses weight. And it's not just celebrity gossip. Everyone has it in their day to day life-judgement. We are conatantly being judged and we are constantly judging others, we just don't want to admit it to ourselves.

I Got This

It usually takes me about a week to stop craving sugar when I stop eating it completely. I'm no longer craving it, which is wonderful. Once I make it over that one week hump it is so much easier!!

I used to love carrots. I don't know what happened. I had to force myself to eat some carrot chunks at lunch. Maybe I ate too much of them in the past. On the other hand, all-natural chunky peanut butter and celery are my newest friends:o)

I'm sure this post wasn't super exiting to read, but I just wanted to give an update. After one week I feel so much better! The only challenge is trying to eat something every two hours on my work schedule, but I'm making it work!

Welcome to Me

The main purpose of this blog, above all else, is to show the world that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. The most important thing is how we feel about ourselves. Personally, I would feel more comfortable in my own skin if I were thinner. This does not mean that I don't think I look good as I am now. I want to make it clear from the start that this is not another weight loss blog, it's a blog about getting to a place in your life where you feel healthy and beautiful. I've see women of all sizes throughout my days and thought "wow, she's gorgeous!"

I've found a weight loss plan that works for me. Last year, prior to moving to Los Angeles, I lost 30lbs. It wasn't a "diet", it was a lifestyle change that worked. I believe everyone's body is different. What works for me is eating healthy items and making sure that I eat something about every two hours. I think this keeps my metabolism up and keeps my body from going into "hunger mode" and storing fat. Just because this works for me, doesn't mean this plan will work for everyone else. I know people who have been successful at all kinds of "diets". Nothing irks more than someone else telling me what I should and should not eat, unless I'm specifically asking them for their opinion. Okay, I digress...

I will be posting a photo every month until I feel I've reached my goal. (I can't say what that will be as of yet, I'll find out when I get there.) I'm hoping to show in these photos that beauty truly does come in all shapes and sizes. I'm not trying to come off as vain or conceited-with a good photographer, a great outfit, and a little makeup (or none for the super lucky:p) we can ALL be beautiful.

I will also make updates throughout the month as well about how I'm feeling, any changes to my life, and any random thoughts I feel like sharing.

Thanks for reading!
